Karyn Janowski is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and has been a participating artist in several community projects in her native state of Wisconsin. Under the direction of muralist Caryl Yasko, Karyn assisted in the production of preliminary drawings and the surface preparation and painting of the Whitewater Historical Mural (The Prairie Tillers), in Whitewater, Wisconsin. She was also involved, with the Chicago Public Art Group, in the design and drawing of the Mifflin Street Community Co-op Mural in Madison (1987), and in the Wisconsin Children’s Theatre, as Scenic Designer and painter. In Los Angeles, Karyn has been a visual artist adjudicator (2002-2006) for the California Alliance for Arts Education’s yearly ‘Emerging Young Artist Award’, a  four year college scholarship award.

Karyn also founded and coordinated "The Warehouse", a studio for visual artists and musicians in Madison, Wisconsin. This was a chance to provide numerous visual artists and musicians an opportunity to create and interact in an affordable and receptive environment. Karyn has lived in Los Angeles since 1992.
